Zoo Fun

Abby has started having conversations with inanimate objects (is this normal? I'm not sure). We'll be driving and she will start telling the trees hi or the flowers. Today at the zoo, she was walking with a water bottle and I can hear her saying, "Hi water bottle, how are you? I'm holding you. "  She's fun.  Here she is on with Mariah, Lucy and River.

Crawling, Clapping, and Cooing

Our littlest is growing up.  This week (actually on our anniversary last Friday) she started crawling.  She can now crawl over to something and then sit back up.  She also started clapping her hands for the first time and making more noises (not really cooing noises, but cooing starts with a c).  She's becoming more and more of a delight every day and most of the time I feel like we hit the baby lottery.  I'm not really looking forward to life with two very mobile children; hoping Taylor sticks with crawling for awhile.

In honor of our fifth anniversary today, I thought I'd post some pictures from that wonderful day.  I'm so thankful that I married my best friend, who turned out to be super-dad as well.  :-)  Can't believe it's already been five years.  Excited about all that is coming.

Favorite Things about being a Mom of Girls

I've been gone all weekend for a dear friend's wedding in Kansas City, so upon returning I decided to put a list together of all the things I love about having girls (some of these are for a boy or a girl, but I only have girls).

1.  Butterfly and Eskimo kisses (if you don't know what these are, ask Abby and she'll give you one of each)
2.  Singing all the time
3.  Pretty dresses and matching bows
4.  Tea parties
5.  When they fall asleep snuggling with you
6.  Playing dress up
7.  The color pink
8.  Watching her be a little mommy to her dolls
9.  to be cont.  :-)

Here is the friend who got married this weekend.  Unfortunately, I didn't bring a camera (trying to conserve space), so this picture is five years old. 

Abby's Antics part 2

Abby's most recent favorite phrases have been, "Abby do it" or "I need help!!!" and she says one or the other almost all the time. Yesterday we had her pray before eating and it went something along these lines, "thank you for our food, thank you for Daddy, thank you for our food, thank you for Jesus, Amen!!!".  It was pretty sweet.
