So, we were driving home from being at the park all day and Taylor was exhausted and just started wailing. Abby reached down and took her hand like this and Tay almost immediately calmed down and fell asleep. I thought it was so cute, that I had to get a picture of it, so, while driving, I turned the camera around and just snapped a couple. One actually turned out (I had no idea of the angle or anything). Abby also realized I was taking pictures and started saying, "cheese!".

Our Evicted Birds
When we moved into our house, there was a hole in our roof where birds and squirrels had decided to make our home their home. Our landlord came over and patched up the hole and the entire next day these two birds sat there trying to figure out what had happened. They would fly down to the hole (directly below where they are perched in the picture) and then come back up again when they couldn't get it. I felt a little bad for them, but am glad they won't be making noise in the middle of the night in our roof anymore.

Abby's Antics
So this could be a book, but I will try to put more of "Abby's Antics" as time goes on and just start with this for now. Recently, Abby has been enjoying her role as the oldest, i.e. bossing everyone else around. Every morning as she is eating her large bowl of oatmeal she'll spill a little bit. Then she will call Bella over and tap her hand or foot next to the food. After Bella licks it up, she'll say, "good girl, Bella, thank you!!". I'm worried we are teaching her laziness as she will never stoop over to pick up any food she drops, just call Bella over to eat it. Needless to say, Bella is enjoying Abby being around more and more.
Abby also loves to try to throw the ball for Bella when we are outside. When Bella brings it back she tries to tell her to drop it, but has had a hard time saying the "d" sound so it sounds more like, "brop it Bella, brop it!"
When Abby has climbed high or is on an unsteady surface and starts to fall a little, we would always say, "careful Abby!". Now she beats us to it by telling herself to be careful all the time. I'll be doing dishes in the kitchen and hear her in the living room saying, "careful Abby". It's pretty funny.
Here are a couple of recent pictures of the girls.
Abby enjoys being the center of attention (another trait of the first born?), and most definitely doesn't like it when I'm taking pictures of Taylor and not paying attention to her.

Baseball

My friend Lauren and her son came down to Waco from Fort Worth for the day and we got to hang out. Noah and Taylor are less than a month apart and obviously quite fascinated with each other. JT is helping coach a high school baseball team which Lauren's dad coaches and we are at one of the games. I know that Abby is waring a football jersey and it's the wrong sport for a baseball game, but it's the shirt she picked out for herself.
Mimi and Papaw came down for a game as well.
JT, the baseball coach :-)
This is how Taylor enjoys the game.

Bath Time
Abby loves being a big sister and especially helping out with Taylor (I think it has something to do with the fact that she can tell her what to do). Anyway, here she is "helping" me wash Tay's hair. She is trying to tell Taylor to put her head back, but Taylor was not cooperating with her very well. Shout out to the Rogers for letting us borrow their duck. So thankful that we all have girls and can share the fun pink things.

Reading with Beck
This book and Becky are both favs of Abby. Lauren and Becky and Nick are the reasons Abby LOVES going to church every week. Sadly, she is no longer in their class.
On a different note, Taylor started sitting up on her own sometime in the last coule of weeks. It's one of those things that is hard to pinpoint when it happened becuase it is such a process. All I can say is a couple of weeks ago she could only do about five seconds and now she can sit up for several minutes without falling over. It's great!

One Bunny?
Abby woke up the day after Easter and was sitting at the counter watching me make her oatmeal breakfast. On the counter were some bunny Peeps from the day before. Abby looks at them, then looks at me and says, "hi mommy" in a VERY sweet voice. She then says that two more times, followed by a "love you!". After a moment pause, she looks at me with very big eyes and asks, again very sweetly, "one bunny?". Can't say she didn't try!
Speaking of oatmeal, here is her usual bowl of oatmeal she enjoys in the morning, every morning. Most people don't believe me when I say she eats a lot of oatmeal in the morning, so I thought I'd document.

Zoo with Grandma
Here are some pictures from when my mom was here and JT was in Haiti. I know it's taken awhile to get them up, but these are from the our day at the Waco zoo.
I didn't mean to, but dressed us in matching colors.
Grandma and her girls.
